The golden rule of travel beauty

Less is more. Most women pack three times too much — and ultimately use the same five products. The secret to a perfect travel kit: multi-purpose products, appropriate formats and skin protection as the priority.

The ideal kit — 15 essentials

Face care (7): Cleansing oil 50ml · Gel cleanser 50ml · HA serum 30ml · Light moisturiser 30ml · Dry face oil 30ml · SPF50 50ml · Nourishing lip balm

Minimal makeup (5): Tinted foundation or BB cream · Waterproof mascara · Brow pencil · Red or coral lipstick (instantly elevates) · Compact powder

Body (3): Dry body oil 50ml (body, hair, cuticles — one product, three uses) · Travel deodorant · Hand cream 30ml

The liquids rule for flights

In Europe: 1 transparent plastic bag of 1 litre, containers of 100ml maximum. For one week, everything fits in this bag with appropriate formats.

Frequently asked questions

SPF 50 (never optional), face cleanser, moisturiser, lipstick (transforms an outfit in seconds), waterproof mascara, hand cream. These six cover 90% of travel situations.

Beach/sun → enhanced SPF, after-sun. European city → standard light kit. Dry destination/altitude → double moisturiser, add nourishing oil. Humid destination (tropical Asia) → lighter routine, non-comedogenic textures.

Yes — cabin air humidity is 10-15% (vs 40-60% on the ground). On flights over 3 hours, skin measurably loses transepidermal water. Solution: apply HA serum + moisturiser before flying, drink plenty of water.

A quality dry oil is the multi-purpose product par excellence: cleanser, body moisturiser, hair treatment, lip and cuticle nourisher. A lipstick can double as blush. A CC cream replaces primer + foundation + SPF.

SPF 50 every morning without exception, reapply every 2 hours in sun. A hat is the most effective and least bulky sun complement.

Technically yes using a cleansing oil that does both. But never go to bed without cleansing skin — even while travelling, even tired.

Transfer to a refillable 10ml travel atomiser. Solid perfumes in stick format are practical with no leakage risk.

Weekend (1-3 days): super compact, 5-7 products maximum. Week (4-7 days): standard kit 15 products. Over 10 days: standard kit + 2-3 targeted additions.

Shampoo and conditioner (bulky, available everywhere), sunscreen in beach destinations, body lotion. Always pack: your regular serum, preferred SPF, signature lipstick.

Bathroom tray + vertical organisation (suction hook on mirror). Take out only what you use that day. Leave the rest in the kit.
